Taiwan’s Landscapes & Landmarks

From coastal rock formations and a historical town to colorful lanterns, bask in natural and cultural richness in northern Taiwan.

About Your Trip

Experience some of Taiwan’s most celebrated settings, remarkable for their natural and cultural significance. Starting from your base in Taipei, your adventure includes a full-day tour of the island’s northern coast, famed for the striking hoodoo rock formations located in postcard-perfect Yehliu Geopark. Continue to Jiufen, a gold-mining village during Japanese rule. Stroll Jiufen Old Street, which is full of food vendors and quaint shops. Before dinner, you’ll release a lantern in Pingxi. This town hosts an annual festival that features lanterns and fireworks.

Up for more sightseeing? You’ll have ample leisure time to further explore Taipei at your own pace!

What we love:
• Yehliu Geopark, on Taiwan’s northern coastline, is home to distinctive geological structures known as hoodoo stones. The most notable one is called Queen’s Head Rock.
• Near your hotel is Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, a famous monument built in memory of the former president.
• In Taiwan, it is believed that letting a lantern float away is like sending good wishes into the sky.
